FPA Abortion Mill-Saturday – May 7th 2011
It’s been said that whenever you try to do something Holy all hell will break out. A courageous sidewalk counselor named Anne was experiencing this maxim first hand as she tried to save babies from being aborted and spare their mothers from a lifetime of regret.
Anne felt a demonic oppression as twice cars attempted to run her down and she was called every obscenity imaginable.
The first couple that stopped to speak with the counselor was on their way to FPA and only glanced at the information she tried to present to them. Anne then stopped a car with a young couple inside. The man was very pleasant and kindly listened with interest to what the counselor had to say but as soon as she asked the woman how far along she was the woman became very hostile. She began to tell Anne, using obscene language, how awful and evil she was. The woman seemed possessed. The counselor understood that this woman knew what she was about to do and this is how she dealt with the guilt. After dropping her off, her boyfriend apologized to Anne for her behavior and said it was for medical reasons. He did not want to discuss the details.
Soon after, a mother and daughter showed up, and though they took the information and the picture Anne handed to the girl of a six week old baby, they kept on walking up to the abortuary. However they emerged around a little over an hour later and the girl was crying. The mother said in the best English she could muster that the girl did not have an abortion. Anne handed the mother a Rosary and told her she would pray for them.
David, another counselor, spoke with a Hispanic couple, and as they drove near Anne she gave them literature in Spanish but they already had it. Anne tried her best to tell them the doctor was bad, but they entered the abortuary. They came out around one hour later and the man gestured that she did not have an abortion. Anne handed them a Rosary.
Another car drove up and again the man was quite pleasant, but as soon as Anne tried to talk to the woman she began to yell at her telling her how awful she was making her feel. She told Anne to get out of her face.
Another couple that a counselor named Luis and Anne talked with. went back into their car to call COLFS because of what they heard about the doctor. Once they realized COLFS does not perform abortions, they went inside the abortion clinic. The man told the phone counselor he was 60 and he had his mind made up.
Anne saw two women walk into FPA but could not get to them. She noticed a man who was with them in his car so she went to talk with him. He alluded to the fact that it was his girlfriend upstairs, and Anne asked how far along she was. He said 12 weeks. Anne told him this was quite far along and showed him a plastic baby model of a 12 week old. He was so surprised that the child was that big. He said that they were thinking that maybe they should not be doing this, but they drove from Imperial Valley. Anne told him about the doctor, but more importantly that this child might be the next famous baseball player, and he said “maybe even the President of the United States”. He tried to call his girlfriend but she did not pick up so he went to get her. Soon after, one of the women who he was with came out and came over to Anne. She said she was pro-life and wanted to hear her position. Anne guaranteed her that her friend would never be the same if she went through with this. She said her family would disown her even though she was 40. Anne told her it didn’t matter what her family thought because it was her baby. Anne showed her what the baby would look like, and then she agreed to talk with her and get her out. They came out about 45 minutes later, and the woman considering the abortion came over to Anne and said she did not go through with it, and she would continue to talk with her.
