The barbaric procedure known as a second trimester abortion consists in first inserting laminaria rods into the mother’s cervix; the laminaria rods absorb moisture and expand to dilate the cervix. Next forceps are inserted to tear the limbs off the baby. Then when the abortionist is satisfied that most of the baby has been removed the forceps are used to crush the head so that it can be removed through the birth canal. Finally the placenta and remaining contents are suctioned from the uterus. Is there anything more horrific this side of hell?
The sidewalk counselors in front of the FPA abortuary intercepted three mothers scheduled for third trimester abortions. One mother spared her baby the other two did not.
A lady sidewalk counselor spoke with a 21 year old mother who is in the Marines and 15 weeks pregnant. The counselor spoke to her about the dangers of abortion and went over a brochure that listed the malpractice suits against FPA’s abortionist. The young mother took the information but still went in to the mill. The counselor convinced the mother’s boyfriend to call her on her cell phone and get her out of the abortuary. The mother emerged from the mill and again spoke with the counselor. But they were interrupted by an FPA worker who yelled at the counselor and threatened to call the police. This frightened the young mother back into the mill.
The lady sidewalk counselor intercepted a mother and daughter in front of the mill. As they spoke the mother’s heart was convicted and she wept. She told the counselor that she had brought her friend who is 20 weeks pregnant for an abortion. She tearfully admitted that she had almost aborted the daughter standing next to her when she was 20 weeks pregnant. But even though she had laminaria inserted she had changed her mind. Since the friend was already in the abortuary the mother, the daughter and the counselor began to pray that she change her mind. She did not. Perhaps the prayers were answered with the next couple the sidewalk counselor encountered.
The lady counselor walked over to a young Hispanic couple that was approaching the mill. The young man spoke some English but the young mother spoke none. So the counselor used her cell phone to call a male sidewalk counselor who speaks Spanish and was located at a driveway across the parking lot. The male counselor when informed of the situation asked to speak with the mother. They spoke briefly and he told her he would be right over to speak in person. The counselor ran over to the Hispanic couple. The mother explained to him that she was 17 weeks pregnant, had the laminaria inserted but had changed her mind. When she called FPA to see if they could remove the laminaria they informed her that she had to come in person it’s not something they could answer over the phone. The counselor informed her that the laminaria could be removed at the Culture of Life Family Services Clinic (COLFS). The counselor asked her what had changed her mind. She responded that she had gone on “You Tube” were she found the “Silent Scream” video with Spanish subtitles. The video produced by Former abortionist turned Pro-Life activist, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, records the image on an ultra-sound machine as an abortion is performed. She said that image and the testimony of Dr. Nathonson changed her mind. Her eyes welled up with tears as she admitted that she had aborted a 6 week old baby less than a year ago. The counselors told her about “Rachel’s Hope” a healing retreat for post-abortive women and men. He gave a brochure and encouraged her to go.
The Hispanic couple agreed to go to the COLFS clinic to have the laminaria removed. They got in their car and followed the female counselor who was in her car to COLFS. At COLFS there were tears of joy as the couple saw their baby girl on the ultra-sound. The laminaria was successfully removed and the couple decided to keep their baby.
Please pray for this Hispanic couple that chose life.
